EBOOK
eballiance
publishes fiction
which reflects a hopeful view and good values. At this time, our
interest is in novels and short stories. If you have manuscripts
which may be of interest, please consider the following.
The book
must be:
· Character
centred, as the reader identifies with interesting characters.
· Based on
a strong plot, providing the framework for exciting fiction.
· Written in
an easily accessible style. Descriptions need to be graphic to allow
the reader to see the setting. The subject needs to appeal to the
modern reader.
Our priorities
when assessing the suitability of a script:
· Has the novel
a well developed plot?
· Does the first
chapter (especially the first page) grip the reader? Is there every
incentive to read on?
· Can the reader
identify with the main character? Has the character credible emotions
and life style.
· Is the writer
using modern, everyday and easily understood language?
· Are sentences
the required length?
· Are the dialogues
in line with the character and do they further the plot?
· Is the ending
effective?
· Does the
novel have between 50,000 - 200,00 words?
· Is the author
positive about people?
When submitting
a manuscript:
We require the first chapter and synopsis in hard copy or e-mail
in "M S Word" or send on floppy disc in the same format. A SAE
must be sent if anything is to be returned. This first submission
must be of 3-4 pages with an indication of where chapters start
and finish. Short stories should be treated in the same way. We
do not have time to read excess material so a letter is not necessary
unless it contains special information which is vital to the understanding
of the literature. We are happy to publish work which has been
(or is to be) published in paper book form, providing we have
some written evidence that this is acceptable to the other publisher.
Our reply will
be in the form of a letter, giving an assessment of the work. This
may vary from immediate interest to comments on the fact that the
author has potential but requires assistance or training. In that
case, we may offer the training as necessary. There will be some
who do not submit the type of literature we would want to publish.
In that case we would make that clear. Our policy is to treat authors
with respect and encouragement. We all know how it feels to be an
aspiring author!
